VizUp Terms of Service

The agreement between you and the VizUp team. Plain English.

The TL;DR Use VizUp to practice workplace communication. Don't try to break it, resell it, or use it for anything illegal. We provide the app "as is" without guarantees, and we can update or end the service if we have to. If you subscribe to Pro, payments and renewals are handled by Apple.

1. Acceptance

By installing, opening, or using the VizUp iOS application ("VizUp", "the app", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What VizUp is

VizUp is a learning tool for international professionals navigating workplace communication in the United States. It provides scenarios, phrases, drills, and quizzes designed to build confidence and skill. The content is educational; it isn't legal, immigration, financial, or career advice.

3. Your account & data

VizUp doesn't require you to create an account. Your profile, saved items, and progress are stored locally on your device. You can wipe your data at any time from Profile → Delete All My Data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app except as permitted by law.
Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame, or harm any person.
Attempt to access systems or data not intended for end users.
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any of the app's content (scenarios, phrases, illustrations, audio).
Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to interact with the app.

5. VizUp Pro subscription

VizUp Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks practice drills, AI scenario coaching, and future content.

Payment — Apple charges your Apple ID at the price shown when you subscribe.
Auto-renewal — Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free trial — If a free trial is offered (e.g., 7-day trial for the yearly plan), the subscription begins at the end of the trial unless cancelled before. Cancelling during the trial avoids any charge.
Cancellation — Manage or cancel anytime from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Refunds — Apple handles refunds. Request one through your Apple ID purchase history. We can't issue refunds directly.
Price changes — If we ever change the price, we'll notify you in-app and you can choose to keep, change, or cancel your plan.

6. Content ownership

All content in the app — scenarios, phrases, illustrations, audio, design, and code — is owned by VizUp or licensed to us. Personal, non-commercial use within the app is fine. Anything beyond that requires written permission.

7. Disclaimer

VizUp is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties about the app's accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The cultural and communication advice is general guidance based on common patterns; your real workplace will vary, and we don't guarantee any particular outcome (job offer, promotion, raise, etc.).

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VizUp and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (often $0 for free users).

9. Termination

You can stop using VizUp at any time by uninstalling the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue Pro features, we'll prorate any unused subscription.

10. Updates to the Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
